Job Title: Programme Coordinator, Support to Adolescent Girls Empowerment (SAGE)
Reporting Lines: Reports to the Programme Manager
Location: 2.5 years Fixed Contract (Subject to Probationary Period)
Contract: Three months and possibility of renewal based on performance
We are looking for a Young and dynamic Programme Coordinator to join our team. They will play a central role in the programmes team with responsibility for developing partnerships with grassroots organisations, supporting the organisational development of grantee partners through supportive interactions; and documenting the lessons learned in supporting community driven change. In order to execute their responsibilities effectively, the Programme Coordinator must maintain an in-depth knowledge of the priorities and strategies of Purposeful grant making, learning and evaluation, as well as advocacy programmes and develop a deep knowledge around adolescent girls.
PARTNERSHIP MANAGEMENT
- Work with the Programme Manager on the funding process, to conducting the required due diligence on programmatic partners
- Conduct regular listening and learning visits to all implementing partners in Sierra Leone
- Follow up and support SAGE partners both on implementation and budget utilisation and ensure consistency to contract agreements
- Accompany programmatic partners in their organisational development by assisting in identifying and using effective approaches, tools, and opportunities
- Coordinate and facilitate periodic mid-term and end of programme evaluations and reports
- Ensure that regular plans and reports from partners are received on time..
- Assist in the reviewing of reports and also provide feedback to the partners
- Consolidate reports received form the partners
- Provide professional support to the partner organisation on data collection, anti-corruption and other methodologies
- Collaborate with other team members in the assessment of partner capacity and in planning accompaniment strategies
PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT
- Work as a member of the team on the SAGE programme components. Provides overall support to the Programme Managers and the Senior Programme Manager
- Conduct background research that informs development and implementation approach
- Support planning and implementation of programme activities including, overall coordination of meetings, visits, and trainings
- Develop materials related to the implementation
- Manage ongoing correspondence with programmatic partners to support implementation of key activities
- Work collaboratively with Programme Manager and Senior Programme Manager to collect, code, analyse information, and data to document results of initiatives
- Document process and outcomes for the Board and for external audiences
- Ensure project tracking and activity monitoring is updated
- Provide administration and logistical support to the programming team
LEARNING AND INSIGHTS
- Engage the work with an ongoing lens of learning and inquiry to capture and surface the knowledge emerging through the work.
- Coordinate with the appropriate staff and with programmatic partners to capture learning and insights
- Assist in facilitating learning and reflection processes with Programme Manager and Karo Kuro programmatic partners, to support them and use insights to improve their programmes
- Stay abreast of issues related to adolescent girls, movement-building, and, community development, by reviewing publications, and attending related conferences, meetings, and other events
INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION
- Respond to information needs and requests of the Country Manager, Senior Programme Manager and Programme Manager
- Maintain and develop relationships with peer organisations and other key stakeholders as necessary to support programmatic partners and support the goals of Purposeful
- Contribute to ongoing efforts to share knowledge with internal and external stakeholders. Represent Purposeful, as assigned, including making presentations at conferences and other forums
SAFEGUARDING
- Participate in annual training on safeguarding policies and procedures
- Ensure that safeguarding policy and procedures are followed on all activities that include girls
- Conduct review of programmatic partner safeguarding policies, procedures, reporting and follow-up on reported cases. Share any observed risks or concerns to the Safeguarding Officer
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
- Assist in the supervision of Purposeful Fellows
- Assist Programme Manager in leading special projects or take on additional tasks as assigned
- You may occasionally be required to work on weekends and/or public holidays, for which time off in lieu will be granted
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- Experience with and understanding of adolescent girl-centred programming, community-based organisations, and social change
- Strong time management skills, with ability to effectively multitask and prioritise to meet deadlines
- Strong insight on programme design and capacity of grassroots organisations to implement proposed programmes
- Ability to maintain regular contact and meaningful communication with a wide range of programmatic partners and other collaborators
